Synopsis

Educational Administration has seen a significant increase in the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI). As well as increasing the efficiency of school administration, improving resource utilization, enabling evidence-based decision making and supporting both pedagogy and student learning, the increased use of AI in education is raising significant ethical and sustainability questions. Amongst these are questions about how to maintain data privacy, minimize algorithmic bias, improve transparency, ensure environmental sustainability and be accountable for governance. The chapter explores the necessary ethical and sustainable practice to successfully adopt AI in Educational Administration. Drawing on global policy frameworks, research reports and examples of good practice by organizations, this book provides a comprehensive guide to the equal adoption of AI which will foster equity, accountability and sustainability.
