Open Access
Open Access at Deep Science Publishing:
Deep Science Publishing publishes authored books, edited volumes, textbooks, chapters, monographs, thesis, and book reviews as fully open access, allowing unlimited use and reuse. When a book is published Gold Open Access, its final version becomes freely and permanently accessible to everyone upon publication. The authors retain the copyright for the book and can set specific permissions as they see fit. These books are available under a Creative Commons license (CC BY-NC), allowing them to be used, shared, and reproduced in any format, provided that appropriate credit is given to the original source.
Author Rights and Sharing:
The open access policy of Deep Science Publishing allows authors to share their published book in their chosen repositories or personal websites.
Processing Charge and Editorial Independence:
Gold open access books are freely accessible and funded through a processing charge, usually paid by the author, funder, or editor. At Deep Science Publishing, we believe that books should be evaluated based on the quality of their content, rather than an author's ability to pay. The decision to publish a Gold open access book is independent of the authors financial contributions.
Review and Publication Process:
When a new book submission is received, it is sent to a relevant expert for review, who is assigned by the editors. If the subject of a book is beyond the core competencies of an Editor, they may invite another Editor to review it. Reviewers are asked to focus on the academic relevance, novelty of ideas, importance of the issue, perceived quality, and to assess whether anything is missing within the scope of the book. Any feedback and suggestions provided by the reviewer are communicated to the authors for revision. The editor will either accept the publication of your book (including changes suggested by the reviewer) and extend a Publishing Agreement, or reject the manuscript. The Editor or the reviewer may determine that the book is not within scope or an unacceptable standard. Additionally, if the author refuses to implement the reviewer’s suggestions, it will be rejected. Once the final version is revised by the author, it is returned to the initial reviewer for further evaluation and approval.
Upon resubmission, the Editor and the reviewer verify that all suggested revisions have been addressed in the revised manuscript. If the changes are acceptable, the manuscript files are sent to the production team for copyediting and typesetting. If the revision does not meet the recommended changes, it is sent back to the author for further revisions. Usually, a book manuscript undergoes multiple revisions before the Open Access version is posted online. Authors are invoiced for the agreed-upon Publication Charge during the production run.
