The methodology consisted of extensive quantitative and qualitative research conducted with a detailed study of over 50 foreign academic publishers, which focus on converting dissertations into books. Each was given a quantitative assessment from 1 to 10 including a weighting factor assigned to each of the different aspects of the assessment to provide a composite score. What is logical and followed intuitively is the highest weight for academic rank; after that comes the weight of field or discipline; and third is fair market value. The best composite scores obtained so far in each one of these steps have led to the development of a final top 10 list of publications that guarantees that the publications will have good publishing indicators if they need to comply with the academic world's publishing requirements in measurable and data-based way.
