Compliance Engineering and Regulatory Alignment
Synopsis
Regulatory alignment maps jurisdictional requirements to engineering activities in a discipline known as compliance engineering. Methodologies supporting compliance engineering enable the rigorous assessment of consumer safety risks and associated controls throughout the product lifecycle. Critically, the analysis of risk-based compliance engineering objectives guides the architecture of compliance programs supporting complex products in high-risk industries. A formal treatment of risk-based compliance engineering principles is supported with three supplementary examples drawn from past compliance-engineering teaching and practice.
