Future Directions in Resilient and Governed Infrastructure Systems

Resilience has become a buzzword in a broad range of disciplines and social domains, from public policy and political science to public health, urban planning, public administration, economics, ecology, produce supply chains, and infrastructure systems. Nevertheless, little is known about what resilience means in practice, how it can be effectively translated into action, and how progress can be measured. A comprehensive introduction to the concept is therefore timely for its application in transforming the resilience of infrastructure systems and the ways in which they are governed, managed, and financed.
