Nano emulsions for Cardiovascular Therapeutics

Abstract
Nanoemulsion for Cardiovascular Therapeutics provides an emerging portrait of nanoemulsion-based systems for treatment and prevention of cardiovascular disease (CVD). CVD continuously represent the major cause of global morbidity and mortality, and therapeutic options are sometimes affected by the poor solubility, the low bioavailability, and the lack of target specificity of traditional nutraceuticals. Nanoemulsions substantially enhance the absorption and efficacy of dietary bioactives including such as garlic extract, green tea polyphenols, curcumin, and omega-3 fatty acid, all of which are conventionally associated with cardiovascular health. Nanoemulsions, a novel generation of nanocarriers, possess various merits such as increased lipophilic compound solubility, programmed release, increased oral uptake and precise targeting of cardiovascular organs. This chapter discusses formulation approaches, physicochemical properties, stability concerns associated with nanoemulsions, and pharmacokinetic advantages with respect to cardio-protective bioactives such as fatty acids, coenzyme Q10 etc. In addition, the use of nanoemulsions in naturopathic cardiovascular practice is described regarding their potential for decreasing oxidative stress, lowering lipids, enhancing endothelial function, and preventing atherosclerosis. This review offers a critical exploration of therapeutic potential, safety concerns and future prospects of nanoemulsion-based nutraceuticals, to fill the gap in cardiovascular therapeutics. Combining nanotechnology and naturopathic principles, nanoemulsion platforms open a new era in personalized, safe and effective cardiovascular medicine.
