Synopsis

This book discusses “architectures”, which refers to the structural design and arrangement of various components of digital money. It focuses on the complete digital finance stack, comprising blockchain, digital assets, stablecoins, CBDC, payment systems, wallets, embedded finance and card ecosystem, as well as cross-border regulation. We foresee a programmable, connected, intelligent and open financial system of the future across domains. The merging impact of blockchain, AI, real-time payments, tokenized assets, embedded finance and digital identity is creating completely new models of economic coordination.

As integrated digital ecosystems emerge, traditional lines separating payments, banking, commerce, lending, insurance, and investment disappear. Finance will most likely be a world where legacy financial firms, fintech start-ups, central bankers, digital assets and software agents co-exist. How successfully a company will do this depends not only on the use of technology. The construction and governance of financial infrastructures must be responsible, interoperable and resilient. Digital finance has become familiar to us. The framework of the global economy's guidelines is rapidly beginning to take shape.
