Synopsis

The creation of intelligent infrastructure—systems capable of a certain level of reasoning, learning, and autonomous decision-making—presents an opportunity to better manage the proliferation of data and make it available to a diverse set of use cases. Intelligent data infrastructure applies these principles to the collection, storage, processing, and dissemination of data. On an operational level, it drives automated, self-healing, adaptive systems; augments data operations with AI; and empowers stakeholders to apply policy-driven, AI-enhanced approaches to governance. Intelligent data infrastructure also provides a theoretical underpinning for data infrastructure; builds a coherent view of its architectural, operational, and deployment aspects; identifies the key challenges and opportunities; and outlines future research directions.
